Our Most Awkward and Embarrassing Moment at Disney
Hello, friends!
If you are anything like us, there’s no escaping an opportunity for an embarrassing or awkward moment. It is like they are just attracted to us. Not only have I passed out at my wedding in front of 250 people, but we have also missed the same flight multiple times and just had all around crazy experiences.
Disney is no exception!
So, today we are sharing our most awkward moments within the parks. I’m sure there will be more to come, but we couldn’t pass this opportunity to share these with you. Join in the fun and let us know some of your embarrassing moments too! Surely we aren’t the only ones.
Standing up on the Splash Mountain Drop
When I was younger, I was terrified of the Splash Mountain drop at the end. I would stand on that bridge right in front of it and would count how long it took for the log to go down that hill. About 3 seconds. Every time. So, I thought I could do anything for three seconds.
Well, not only did I freak out at every tiny drop along the way, but when we got to the top of that final one, time slooooowed waaaaay doooown. I counted to three in about half a second and then freaked out that we still hadn’t really started the drop. At that point I decided I very much did not want to ride the remainder of the ride and had to get up. Let’s just say I started to stand up and thankfully didn’t get any farther than that!
Failed Rope Drop
If you know rope drop, you know that everyone has to move at the same pace behind the rope. We thought we could maybe avoid the crowd headed to Big Thunder Mountain by going through Adventureland and then in the small “tunnel” that lets out into Frontierland. Surely no one would be holding a rope there! We definitely made it to that point ahead of the crowd and all would have been good, except there were two cast members waiting there. They rightfully did their job and asked us to wait. We did, and very sadly watched as the huge crowd came toward us on their way to the back of Frontierland and we were ushered to join the very throng of people we had hoped to avoid.
Sad day.
Never Again on Rockin’ Rollercoaster
I had never been on Rockin’ Rollercoaster before that day. And I will never ride it again. That jump into lightspeed right at the beginning…most definitely not my style. Aerosmith may be cool and all, but that ride did not fit my definition of cool. There were quite a few tears shed and possibly a cold shoulder given to Anthony while deboarding the ride. Never again.
A Shock on the Dinosaur Ride
Anthony, on the other hand, had never riden Dinosaur. Honestly, I thought he would have a blast on it, and I really don’t think it is that scary. I mean, you can see in the photo that I’m having the time of my life. I love the adventure of that ride. Anthony was quite caught be surprise with how expertly the ride managed to disturb him. We got off the ride and I was bouncing around having a good old time and he just said, “That was really scary!” He actually thought that massive dinosaur was going to jump out and bite his head off and I couldn’t feel more successful.
Mail Box Trash Cans
Lastly, this is a story shared by my mom. Years ago, she said that some of the trash cans actually looked like mail boxes. So, she had a postcard she wanted to mail and very confidently threwe it in the trash can. Just a little while later she realized what she had done and quickly dug back through the trash for the postcard! Good times.
We hope you enjoyed some of our fun stories. Here’s to be awkward and not always knowing what to do about it! It’s always good for a laugh though!
