History of the Disneyland & Walt Disney World Carrousels
I don’t know about you, but there is something special about knowing the history behind something—especially an attraction at a Disney park. The attractions tend to have such rich, intriguing history of how they came to be and how they continue to influence the parks today. So, naturally we have to cover one of these attractions. This time it is the history of the Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Carrousels.
We start, of course, in California’s Disneyland to cover the carrousel in Walt’s Magic Kingdom. Yes, this is the one that Walt had a direct influence in incorporating into the original park. We even discuss a bit the Griffith Park carrousel that essentially provided the inspiration for a magical amusement park that would allow families to enjoy the attractions together. Yes, a carrousel started the idea for Disneyland!
From there we will move onto the Florida park at its carrousel. Originally known as Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel, it was later deemed Prince Charming Regal Carrousel with a whole back story following Prince Charming and his training for an event. Like we said, there’s such a rich history here!
We hope you are able to enjoy this little dive into the history of these attractions that sit at the heart of both Fantasylands. They have made a huge impact on the parks as a whole and remain near and dear to the hearts of many guests!
