Should You Get a Park Hopper at Disneyland California?

We like to share periodically about Disneyland just because for us easterners it is a WHOLE DIFFERENT BEAST of a park. So, we want to give you our thoughts on if getting a park hopper at Disneyland is smart and the best option or not. Anthony and Amanda actually have two different opinions on this one (though we do come to kind of a conclusion at the end).

So, should you get park hoppers for Disneyland and California Adventure or not?

Anthony’s opinion is essentially “no.” The fact that there is some much to do in each park, you shouldn’t spend time hopping between the two. In terms of rides and experiences, walking all the way across the way and checking into a new park really loses you a bunch of time. So, it will end up wasting your day.

Amanda’s opinion is “yes.” People who are visiting the parks from out-of-state typically plan a couple of days there if not more. If you are doing so, Amanda recommends not assigning specific parks to those days. Treat it like a flowing schedule between the two. You can check wait times in both parks and have the whole space available to you!

As we chatted about this though, we kind of came to a small conclusion.

If you are visiting the parks for more than two days, treat it as one, big park for those multiple days. Go where you want to go between the two and don’t worry about wasting the time, because you are going to experience what YOU want to see!

If you are visiting for less than two days, we recommend sticking to one park per day. It will really allow you to maximize your time there rather than possibly getting scattered and overwhelmed with all there is to do.
