Best 3D Attractions at Walt Disney World
Disney has created some entertaining 3D rides in their parks. There are only a few, from "It's Tough to Be a Bug" to "Flight of Passage;" we still wanted to list what we think are the best ones on the 3-dimensional list!
We hope you enjoy our opinion on these rides. Let us know in the comments what you think is the best 3-D ride in Walt Disney World.
So, we will say right up front that “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” did not make it on our list. There are really only six attractions. Since we were picking five of our favorites, this one did not make it. Still, you can be sure that if we had included it, the show would have been at the bottom of our list. Sorry to Disney, but we just do not find this one as entertaining, and frankly a bit, scary/uncomfortable.
5. Star Tours
The attraction that lands in the number 5 slot for us is Star Tours. This simulation ride uses 3D technology to really immerse you in the story. The newest, major update of the tour through the world of Star Wars made it so there are at least 50 different iterations of the story. You’ll never know which one you are going to get when you enter the ride!
4. Muppet Vision 3D
Over in Hollywood Studios, the Muppets have been putting on a show over there year after year and we still love it! This particular show is a theater-style one, which some characters that actually are off the screen as well, making it a multi-level experience. If you like the Muppets themselves, their humor and music, you are going to be sure to enjoy this 3D attraction in the Hollywood-themed park.
3. Mickey’s Philharmagic
This show over in Fantasyland starts off with Mickey and his orchestra, but Donald causes a few hiccups that carry you on an adventure. Really, this show has a lot more of Donald in it than Mickey. The show itself is in a theater as many of the other 3D shows have been. It incorporates unforgettable scents, favorites songs and scenes, and just an overall charming ride through classic animation.
2. Flight of Passage
Flight of Passage is actually Amanda’s favorite and would sit as #1 on her list. However, Amanda will give that place to Anthony’s favorite on this list. Flight of Passage itself really stands as a ride like no other. If you had to compare it to something, you could say it was somewhat similar to Soarin’, but better. Plus, this ride has such thrill and wonder included. Your ride vehicle isn’t a shared experience with others on a row of people, but rather you feel as though you are riding your own mythical creature. It’s inspiring, wonderful, and will surely make your jaw drop!
1. Toy Story Mania
Now for Anthony’s most favorite 3d experience in the parks—Toy Story Mania. If you couldn’t already tell from the name, this one centers around a midway mania game. Yet, each screen at which your car stops has 3D elements that make the experience even more involved. Our forearms always ache after this ride because we are super competitive about it. We love this attraction and could ride it over and over again!
